Kasoy or cashew nut is found at the bottom of every fruit of a popular flowering plant in Palawan. It has been notably known for its unique appearance. As is the case in most plants and fruits, the cashew nut is a seed that is located outside, visible to the eye even without having to break open the fruit. Another thing is that, the cashew nut is considered as more valuable than the fruit itself. It is edible and tastes really delicious with a couple of added value as its nutritional content and some possible health benefits. In many parts of the world, kasoy is considered as a healthy in-between snack. So it is no longer a surprise that people traveling to Palawan loves buying kasoy for all its worth.

A small pack of roasted kasoy costs about PhP20. A bigger pack, which contains some 250grams of kasoy goodness is available for PhP70.
